Terms of Service

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the service only with permission from a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these terms.

If you do not agree to these terms, do not create an account or use account-only features.

Provide accurate account information and keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity performed through your account. Contact Actual Recipe promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

Access to author, moderator, or other limited features may be granted or withdrawn at the site's discretion. Accounts may be restricted or closed for violations of these terms, risks to the service or its users, or legal requirements.

Use the site only for lawful purposes. Do not interfere with its operation, evade access controls or rate limits, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, introduce malicious code, automate abusive requests, impersonate others, or use the service to violate another person's rights.

Do not submit unlawful, threatening, deceptive, infringing, or harmful material. Do not use private recipe fields to store passwords, financial details, health records, or other highly sensitive information.

You retain your rights in recipes and other content you save privately. You grant Actual Recipe a limited, nonexclusive license to host, store, reproduce, and display private content only as needed to operate, secure, and maintain the private features you choose to use.

Saving a private recipe does not submit it for publication and does not give Actual Recipe permission to publish, promote, sell, or otherwise monetize that private content.

Private recipe features are designed to limit visibility to the account that created the content, but no online system can promise absolute confidentiality or uninterrupted access. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose, and do not use private recipe fields to store sensitive information.

A recipe is submitted for publication only when you intentionally use a publication-submission process and agree to the terms presented with that submission. Merely saving a private recipe is not a publication submission.

You retain ownership of any copyright you hold in submitted material. When you submit material for publication, you grant Actual Recipe a worldwide, royalty-free, nonexclusive license to host, store, reproduce, edit, adapt, format, publish, publicly display, distribute, promote, and monetize that material in connection with Actual Recipe and its promotion. This license includes permission to create excerpts, previews, resized images, and other formatting changes needed to present or promote the material.

Because the license is nonexclusive, you may continue to use, publish, license, and monetize your material elsewhere. No payment or revenue share is owed unless Actual Recipe separately agrees to one with you in writing.

You represent that you created the submitted material or otherwise have all rights and permissions needed to submit it and grant this license. Do not submit copied descriptions, photographs, illustrations, or other protected material without permission.

You may ask Actual Recipe to stop publishing your submission. Actual Recipe will make reasonable efforts to remove it from future public display, but removal may not affect copies already shared, promotional material already produced, ordinary backups, legal records, or rights previously granted to service providers as needed to distribute the material.

A submission process may present additional Contributor Terms covering matters such as attribution, editorial review, withdrawal, compensation, or special campaigns. If those Contributor Terms conflict with this section, the Contributor Terms control for that submission.

The site's design, branding, original writing, and software remain protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms do not transfer ownership of them to you.

Recipes are provided for general informational purposes. Ingredients, equipment, temperatures, and cooking conditions vary. Use your judgment and follow authoritative food-safety guidance.

Verify ingredient labels and preparation methods yourself if allergies, intolerances, dietary restrictions, pregnancy, illness, or another health concern applies. Actual Recipe does not provide medical, nutritional, or professional advice and does not guarantee that a recipe is safe or suitable for any person.

The site and its features may be changed, suspended, or discontinued at any time. Availability, accuracy, security, and preservation of submitted content are not guaranteed.

The service may contain links to third-party sites or rely on third-party providers. Actual Recipe is not responsible for third-party content, policies, or services.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Actual Recipe is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Actual Recipe and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, use, or profits arising from use of—or inability to use—the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

These terms may be updated as the service changes. Revisions will be reflected by a new effective date. Continued use after revised terms take effect means you accept the revised terms.
